Hi! My name is Karolina and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor based in Illinois. I received my Masters in Community Counseling Degree from Argosy University and have been in practice for the past 17 years. I have worked in diverse settings and with individuals of diverse backgrounds and across age groups.
I help individuals struggling with life's challenges, mood disorders, struggles in interpersonal relationships and survivors of traumatic events.
I am so grateful that you are here! My core belief is that you are the expert in your journey. My practice focuses on supporting individuals who have experienced depression, trauma, anxiety and significant life losses or changes. My primary area of expertise includes trauma-informed care and supporting individuals who have been exposed to trauma or repeated traumatic events. I support families who are experiencing significant life changes including wonderful events and some of life's most challenging and pivotal moments. I am very passionate about supporting individuals who live with neurodiversity and their loved ones.
I am a clinical psychologist with 17 years of clinical experience in both outpatient mental health care and as an integrated mental health care provider in medical settings. I received training from an APA accredited graduate program based on the scientist-practitioner model and practice within the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) orientation. I serve adults and older adults, managing a variety of mental health and medical conditions.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, if you are feeling stuck and don't know where to begin, I can help you find the way. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and comfortable being yourself. My clients often describe me as warm, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to — someone they can open up to without feeling judged or rushed. I have a strong passion for supporting my clients in the way they need and desire to be supported. I have a deep personal and professional understanding of the human mind and the struggles of life. I genuinely care about my clients and their wellbeing.
Welcome! I provide encouraging, evidence-based, and culturally affirming individual therapy. I have a special affinity working with people of color, and I hold niche expertise in working with law and other graduate students, early-career attorneys, and professionals, and parents. Treatment concerns may include depressive and anxiety symptoms, relationship transitions, occupational or academic stress, and other adjustment issues. Most importantly, I welcome and serve clients across all genders, identities, and backgrounds.
My intention is to offer a non-judgmental space to talk through past and present feelings and situations that may be uncomfortable, painful, stressful or overwhelming. I most often work with those who feel stuck due to anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, ADHD, Autism, grief/loss or folks wanting to engage in identity exploration. Reaching out for and participating in therapy may seem daunting; however, part of my role is to help work through any uneasiness or apprehension.
