I enjoy working with individuals through the journey of achieving the goals they have with counseling or even just helping them figure out their goals. I feel like individuals are who they are based on their experiences and that when we give them time to view experiences from a holistic view point, they will recognize that they are powerful.
Counseling is not something that is necessarily a quick fix, but you will hopefully walk away with some insight on how you can move forward in a positive and healthy manner.
I recognize the impact being a member of a marginalized group can have on someone and respect the needs of all of these populations. I look forward to answering any of your questions and assisting you on your journey.
My style is eclectic and strength based. I see human nature as intrinsically good. Sigmund Freud said we are bio-social animals. I believe a great deal in listening to one’s self talk. The more positive our dialogue with ourselves is, the more positive our dialogues with others and our lives are. I’m also experienced in CBT, DBT, MI, Solution Focused, ACT, Gestalt, Interpersonal, and person-centered counseling.
My training includes lots of wonderful supervision and workshops, a three-year certificate from the Gestalt Institute of Chicago, and two one month intensives with Virginia Satir, the founder of family therapy. Virginia taught that exploring the self is like mining gold. We all have gold inside of us. That is our basic goodness. A lot of emotional suffering is the result of being detoured from that basic goodness.
Hi, I’m Cherie. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and EMDR-trained therapist. I work with teens and adults who are feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Maybe you're constantly on edge, overthinking everything, or finding it hard to slow down. Or maybe you’ve been feeling flat, unmotivated, or like you're just going through the motions. These experiences often trace back to things your nervous system picked up on — ways it learned to protect you in stressful or painful situations.
I help people work through painful memories, low self-esteem, and the weight of depression—like feeling numb, exhausted, stuck, or hard on yourself. We'll explore the parts of you carrying that pain and move at a pace that feels right, whether you're ready for deep healing or just need a safe place to land.
If you’re feeling ready—or just curious—I’d be honored to support you on your healing path.
Outside of therapy, I love curling up with a good book, finding design inspiration (I have a soft spot for cozy interiors), caring for my houseplants, and spending time with my dog, Magnolia Grace—who may occasionally drop in for a virtual session cameo.
Life can feel like a lot sometimes, whether you're navigating anxiety, grief, addiction, or the emotional weight of caring for a loved one. Maybe things feel tangled, or you're used to being the strong one for everyone else. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. I want to understand your story, what’s been heavy lately, and what you’re hoping will feel different. Together, we can begin to make sense of it all and help you feel more steady, supported, and like yourself again.
I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in supporting mothers raising children on the autism spectrum. Parenting a neurodivergent child can be joyful, but also demanding. Many mothers experience stress, emotional exhaustion, and advocacy fatigue as they navigate challenges that are often invisible to others.
My goal is to provide you with a space that is entirely your own, where you can speak openly, process your experiences, and receive support without judgment. Together we can work through the emotional complexities of parenting, strengthen coping strategies, and help you feel more supported in your role.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a background in trauma-informed care, school social work, and a deep passion for supporting mothers, caregivers, and individuals healing from religious trauma. I work with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, ADHD, and spiritual wounding. My style is warm, grounded, and collaborative, with a focus on helping clients feel safe, seen, and heard. I offer a compassionate, judgment-free space for those processing complex life experiences, including clients who are deconstructing rigid belief systems or navigating the impact of spiritual abuse or exclusion. I welcome clients of all identities and backgrounds, and I deeply value honest connections and authenticity in the healing process.
