My name is Roselyn Kwenda, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Massachusetts- Lowell in 2004 and my Master of Science in Nursing from University of Texas- Arlington in 2016. I have extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, which allows me to support individuals across a wide range of mental health needs.
Life can be overwhelming, and we all experience times of uncertainty, imbalance, or emotional pain. You don’t have to navigate these challenges alone. Seeking support is a brave and meaningful step toward greater well-being. For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of assisting adults and teens work through depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, chronic stress, grief, and trauma.
I’m here to help you access inner strengths and develop new strategies. Together we’ll create a plan to reach your goals.
I’m a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) prepared Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who earned my doctorate from Elms College. I have over 10 years of experience in mental health care and nearly 19 years in the nursing field. Throughout my career, I have worked in inpatient, outpatient and community settings. I have experience supporting an treating a wide range of individuals, from young adults to older adults and geriatric patients.
I offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can bring questions, struggles, and hopes. Many of my clients want to better understand themselves, explore patterns in relationships, or find healthier boundaries. I learn from you.
I am a licensed social worker in Massachusetts and Maryland with a Master of Social Work from Simmons College of Social Work and over 30 years of experience serving diverse communities. My work has included, but is not limited to, Early Head Start, therapeutic schools, supporting elders at risk, and 16 years helping clients in the community manage and understand how to navigate community living and family systems dynamics while experiencing chronic mental health challenges.
I believe a person is not a diagnosis, and a diagnosis is not a person. My approach draws on the biopsychosocial model and developmental frameworks from Erickson and Piaget, alongside evidence-based methods like but not limited to DBT, CBT, and CET. I work with you to discover which approaches feel most helpful, focusing on building a client-centered, trusting relationship where challenges can be explored and skills practiced as our therapeutic work grows and strengthens.
I offer Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy to individuals seeking a deeper understanding of self. I help people build skills to overcome anxiety, depression and emotional overwhelm. I offer training in mindfulness, which emphasizes the importance of presence and curiosity in the healing process.
I have deep empathy and insight into exploring life’s deepest questions. Clients gain confidence and a sense of improved well-being by coming to understand themselves in a comfortable therapeutic setting. I work with diverse populations and clients beginning at young adulthood.
Hello, and welcome! To start, I want you to know I provide a no-fee 15 minute initial consultation session for prospective clients, because I believe a good fit is essential to effective counseling. With over 30 years of experience, I specialize in supporting older adults and their families through some of life's most profound and challenging transitions — including dementia, aging, grief and loss, serious mental illness, and end-of-life concerns. I understand that these experiences can feel isolating and overwhelming, and I believe that having a compassionate, non-judgmental space to talk makes a real difference.
I am married and a father of two young adult sons. I love my work and hold it as an important value in my life. My focus for two decades plus has been on relationships.
My focus is on quality of life. My work has largely been with older adults and their family members, but I work with adults of all ages. I have a Master's degree in expressive arts therapy and nearly 40 years of clinical counseling experience.
