My name is Shelly-Ann Jmaes-Perelion, and I have over 20 years of experience in education and 12 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I served as a high school counselor for seven years and am currently in my sixth year as a Mental Health Intervention Counselor in the CFISD school district.
I believe that our greatest ability as humans is the ability to exercise compassion. I've worked in rural settings, community health clinics and have experience serving those from all walks of life. I am a therapist who has done the work and continues to learn and grow. As part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I continue to advocate both personally and professionally.
I’m passionate about helping people who often feel misunderstood or overlooked — especially those navigating substance use and mental health challenges. Over the years, I’ve seen how stigma can prevent people from seeking help, and I strive to create a safe, judgment-free space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves.
My name is Misty East and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been providing therapy to adolescents, families, couples and the geriatric population for over 15 years. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns. My passion has been working with clients with trauma histories (sexual, physical and emotional).
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I am warm, open, an active listener and I like to challenge those I work with. I create a space where you can openly express yourself so I can learn your thinking patterns and be able to bring light to things that you may not have been able to see on your own. I received my Bachelors in psychology from Prairie View A&M university and my Counseling degree from Lamar University. I am a proud Houston native, mother, and woman of God.
Why fit in when you were born to stand out -Dr. Seuss. Often times when dealing with strong and intense emotions we have trouble communicating with the people in our lives. Together we can work through emotions that are making it hard to move forward in your life. Change is hard and together we can make make it through life's transitions whether you are dealing with the past, or gearing up for the future.
My specialties include stress, anxiety, depression, boundaries, healthy communication, and relationships. My goal is to create a safe space for you to process emotions, and take your next step in life. In a nonjudgmental space and a little humor at times we can explore emotions, and help you achieve the life you want to live.
I will work to create a safe space so that you feel confident to open up. Together we can determine your goals for counseling, and begin the process of working to reach them. If you're ready to take the next step on your journey, please contact me.
