I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am also a certified Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist. Working closely with children and young adults in Western New York for the past few years led me to expand these services to those of college years. Understanding and addressing issues that can arise from being away from home and family for the first time, academia and related stressors.
Born and raised in WNY, attended SUNY Buffalo, obtaining my bachelor's in psychology and master's in Social Work there.
I enjoy working with people of all ages who are striving to move through and process the difficult life experiences, changes and transitions we all experience such as grief & loss, divorce, trauma, addictions of all kinds, parenting and behavioral problems in children and adolescents.
I incorporate a mix of modalities and interventions including somatic interventions (Brainspotting, EMDR techniques, music, tapping, etc), Cognitive and dialectical behavioral strategies and psychoeducation
What can clients expect from their first session with you?In first sessions, I like to get a thorough history (being mindful that not all clients are comfortable with that, which is A OK) and a sense of strengths, resources, needs and goals for working together
