

I’m a licensed psychotherapist based in New York, working with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and questions of meaning.My clinical training includes CBT, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based approaches, along with certification in psychedelic-assisted therapy through CIIS and MAPS. I also have experience supporting clients around identity, immigration, and cross-cultural experiences, and offer therapy in both English and Russian.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Forensic Psychology and a Master's in Social Work, with 15 years of experience in the field—six of those in clinical practice. Throughout my career, I have worked with children, youth, adults, families, veterans, the elderly, marginalized and vulnerable populations, and individuals impacted by substance use. My diverse experience has deepened my commitment to providing compassionate, effective support tailored to each person's unique needs.

I am a licensed psychologist since 2017 and have worked in a range of settings consisting of inpatient psychiatric facilities, community mental health, private practice, and nursing and rehabilitation facilities. I have served clients with wide a range of diversities (race, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and socio-economic status).
Doug Goldschmidt has been practicing psychotherapy since 1997. Before 1997, Doug was first a musician and then a telecommunications economist who worked in South America, Asia, and Ireland to develop innovative communications systems.
He later studied Buddhist psychology, which formed the core of his psychotherapy practice. This was followed by his earning an MSW at NYU in 1997 and extensive training that included certifications in EMDR and Hypnosis.
I'm a licensed clinical social worker with 29+ years experience working with people of all ages who have struggled with traumatic events, grief and mental health concerns. I love helping people find their own voices and heal through authentically connecting to others and themselves. I have specific training in trauma informed care, family systems work, and mental health treatment.
