I am a highly seasoned clinician with years of experience in both mental health care and substance use services. My professional journey began in the substance use field, sand a deep understanding of the co-occurring mental health challenges many individuals face.
My clinical experience includes providing outpatient individual therapy and supporting individuals experiencing acute psychosis in inpatient psychiatric settings. After gaining many years of clinical experience, I expanded into leadership roles, providing clinical supervision and program oversight while managing co-occurring programs across New Jersey. I am also passionate about building the next generation of clinicians and serve part-time as an adjunct professor. I earned my degrees from Rutgers University School of Social Work and Honors College, where I was a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society and graduated summa cum laude.
I bring a diverse background and extensive knowledge to my clinical practice, having worked across a wide range of mental health and substance use settings. Over the years, I have gained experience with many different diagnoses, from anxiety and depression to trauma and co-occurring disorders. My expertise spans multiple evidence-based approaches, including ACT, CBT, DBT, SFT, trauma-informed care, person-centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and psychoanalytic techniques. This breadth allows me to tailor treatment to each individual’s unique needs, strengths, and goals, ensuring a personalized, effective, and compassionate approach to care.

With 20 years of experience, I am a certified CBT specialist dedicated to helping adults break free from anxiety disorders, panic, OCD, ADHD, depression, and insomnia with CBT-I. My approach is direct and empowering; I don't just listen—I equip you with a specialized toolkit to silence intrusive thoughts so you can manage your mental well-being independently.
Hello, my name is Eric Falk. I am a licensed professional counselor using a client-centered approach, occasionally infused with a touch of humor.
I work with a variety of people and I am LGBTQ+ friendly. The issues I work with include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life changes, and relationships.
I encourage reflection and introspection to help empower clients to fulfill their goals.
I have a M.S. Mental Health Counseling graduate degree with a specialization in Substance Abuse Disorder, a M.A. Psychology graduate degree and an undergraduate B.A. Psychology degree.
I have worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, detox and rehab facilities, outpatient PCP and IOP mental health and individual private practice. I have worked with a range of different clients from many different backgrounds and ages (children, preteen, teen, adult and elderly).
For many years I have built rapport with and facilitated the progress of youth who are on the spectrum, who have attention disorders, who struggled with emotion regulation, who are mute, who are transgender, and have exhibited self-harming behaviors. Many of my adult clients have had issues with abandonment, attachment, trauma, and self-harm. The goals I have facilitated my clients progression in are myriad. However, one goal most of my clients aspire to attain is self-love.
Many of the adults I work with grew up feeling unseen—whether because of childhood trauma, emotionally unavailable parents, or painful relationship patterns. Those early experiences can stay with us, shaping the way we see ourselves and connect with others. Over time, it can feel like you’re stuck in the same cycles, questioning your worth, or struggling to build the relationships you want.
Becoming a therapist felt like a natural calling: a way to combine compassion with practical tools to help people heal, grow, and find balance. Over the years, I’ve seen how therapy can transform lives—restoring hope, strengthening relationships, and helping clients rewrite the stories they tell themselves. That transformation is what inspires me every day to do this work with warmth, empathy, and genuine care. I absolutely love what I do and I feel very blessed to do this work everyday.
I have over 30 years experience in the field of mental health. I specialize in trauma, grief and Womens challenges. I am constantly learning new and evidenced based ways to help my clients.
I am an incredibly empathetic therapist who's joy is to provide a safe space to my clients. I utilize a variety of counseling theories in order to provide services. I am engaging and inquisitive and enjoy invoking humor within the sessions when appropriate.
I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. The ideal client is open, courageous, and dedicated to their personal growth. They engage in therapy with honesty, ready to explore and understand their inner world. Embracing change with a patience and self-compassion, they can recognize that healing is a journey. Life is too precious to spend in bad relationships, holding grudges, letting trauma control us, or feeling anxious and angry. Together, we can create a supportive and safe space to work towards a healthier, happier self.
